Researcher Mobility Grant (RMG)

OPENING DATE: 2 July 2018
CLOSING DATE: 3 September 2018

The aim of RMGs is to increase the capability of the European metrology researcher community; increase the capacity of individual researchers in Metrology; and ensure the sustainability of EMPIR. The RMG supports researchers undertaking transnational guestworking on work related to the JRP.

15SIB02-RMG4: Researcher in characterisation of SF6 fixed point cell by means of acoustic thermometry
The RMG-Researcher will work on the characterisation of a novel cell for the triple point of sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) by means of acoustic thermometry. RMG-Researcher will perform test measurements by Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometers (SPRTs) and capsule type SPRTs within the SF6 cell, allowing the simultaneous calibration of long-stem and capsule-type SPRTs.

Spin wave measurements can be used to evaluate the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) constant in magnetic structures. The RMG researcher will investigate alternative methods, e.g. based on spin wave resonance for the measurement of the spin wave stiffness, which is directly related to the exchange stiffness, and apply it to films or multilayers of magnetic materials with DMI and chiral spin structures.
